In reply to Mahdy. Hi Mahdy! In general, the word عم is used to reflect a present continuous tense like the -ing ending in English. A simple and quick answer will be that عم اتعلّم means "I'm learning" while اتعلم means "I learn". But sometimes the active participles of verbs are used to indicate present continuous tenses such as انا ماشي (I'm walking) or انا رايح (I'm going/leaving). Hope this helps!

Thank you a lot, it was really helpful. Just one question, and I’m sorry if you have explained it already … what does “عم” mean when it is used with present tense? like “عم اتعلّم” … what is the difference between “عم اتعلّم” and “اتعلم” ?
