Hi Mahdy! In general, the word عم is used to reflect a present continuous tense like the -ing ending in English. A simple and quick answer will be that عم اتعلّم means &quot;I&#039;m learning&quot; while اتعلم means &quot;I learn&quot;.  But sometimes the active participles of verbs are used to indicate present continuous tenses such as انا ماشي (I&#039;m walking) or  انا رايح (I&#039;m going/leaving).
